All instructors at Flying Fish Swimming have undergone CPR, First Aid, and instructor training. Swim assistants or student instructors who have not completed instructor training are always supervised by a trained instructor.
Staff Background Checks
All instructors at Flying Fish Swimming are required to sign and adhere to Wan Smol Bag’s child protection policy.
Nancy – Nancy is the founder and lead instructor at Flying Fish Swimming. Nancy has been a swim instructor, swim teacher and competitive swimmer for over ten years. She came to Vanuatu as a Peace Corps Volunteer working in public health and decided to stay on in Vanuatu to pursue her passion of swimming and teaching by creating the Flying Fish swim program.
Frank – Frank a Sports Tutor at Wan Smolbag. He teaches a large variety of sports to youth including football, futsal, basketball, cricket. and now swimming. Frank has enjoyed learning a new sport and teaching children how to be safe in the water.
Mary – Mary helps out with the Flying Fish Swim School and assists Frank and Nancy in teaching lessons. She is also part of Vanuatu women’s hockey and is part of the hockey federation. She enjoys being outdoors and keeping fit.
Jean – Jean is the Sports Coordinator at Wan Smolbag. Jean’s goal is to impact young people’s life, as WSB Sports Coordinator, and believes through the swimming program, started from scratch, that we can our goal. Jean says, “I believe that we have been very blessed with the support of sponsorships by NGO’s, WSB Theatre and its youth Centre as well all its dedicated managers and its staffs for their continual advice and leadership towards the initial beginning of swimming and look forward to successful events in the coming future. I wish all swimmers to take responsibility towards this new sporting organization and make use of it as well all parents to be good supporters to make it more supportive towards our swimming instructors.”
